Custer’s Last Stand Tours

Be a part of history

Because the grounds of Custer’s Last Stand are one of the primary draws of visitors to Montana, the area around the site has become a tourist hub. One of the most popular tours is the Western Romance Company’s “Re-enactment-Boothill Trip,” which includes accommodation, meals and various events.

What does this kind of tour include?

For $225 per person, the Western Romance Company’s re-enactment includes the following:

In addition to the $225 package, there are more expansive bookings are available, including:

What’s on the itinerary?

After an early meeting and breakfast served along the banks of the Little Bighorn, the party will embark on a wagon train ride along the famous waterway. Lunch is served upstream in BBQ fashion, not far from the re-enactment grounds.

Those with tickets - and you won’t want to miss out - can then take in the re-enactment of Custer’s failed attempt to attack the nearby Native camp. Afterward, visitors can take time to wander the Hardin Museum or kick back in front of a relaxing chuck wagon campfire. Lectures on the battle and the period surrounding it will keep participants entertained.

A steak dinner is then served, followed by night festivities including an Indian Powwow.

Some tours, like the Western Romance Company’s, feature alternative evening events, such as a Mad Hatter’s Ball.

For those who sign up for two-, three-, or four-day bookings, there are other events included. These include some of the following:

Because the fourth day includes horseback riding, a train ride around the battlefield and a special cowboy concert goodbye performance, it can be purchased (or reserved) separately for $246 per person.
